Drawing back

After some lengthy family meetings, coursework and working term. I am brought back to the realm of Lord of the rings SBG.

It's been too long since I last made some attempts on completing the battle board. All that remains is another two beige coloured coats of paint, flocking, grassing and finally sealing/varnishing.
The last step may need work as I'm not too sure how to protect against chips and lumps of sand/paint from falling of spontaneously...
At least I hope to cover the beige-y coloured coats of paint on three, out of four, of the boards. This means the last one can have a perfect finish, or at least should have by he time I work on it...

Phew....with that kinda out of the way this post will have some more of pictures that I've drawn and/or composed in my spare time:

Sudoku Stain

Futuristic train

A composite material microstructure

One way to join beams

Just Pikachu

Draw your own conclusions here.

My idea of a Praetorian shield design
Anyway the final mention this post is on the topic this Easter holiday, which is a mini campaign between Dwarves and Goblins over a piece of soil. This includes a Fort, weapon stashes, food stores and 'only' a handful of home-made special rules.

Until then

Author Drawn II

Well since last time I put up something like this an arrangement of things have been happening, but either way here are the new editions:

a spear-head
My first proper horse, looks kinda weird too
One of those squiggly twisters which you can interpret as you wish
Robo-dog :)
...........
One 3D running stickman
another obvious one
Can't remember if this was the sun in the clouds, or an eye
.............
............
And a snail
I wish I'd drawn some things less obvious, maybe next time.

Until then

Author Drawn

A small time-out from the Face-off battles, and also because I wanted to add pictures to the blog :)

Here is some of the drawings that I have acquired over the past year in my as-level classes:

(btw I was working too)

Randomosity at it's strangest, still no idea what I was
drawing
Now a sword inspired from feudalism II, the demonslayer
or black curse(?)
An egg from Dorset, the 450million year old one (pic below)

The design of a one-sided guard sword, hopefully more ergonomic
My favourite, a dwarven design sort of
Fairly obvious
Actually done in pen, not very well
An atom and two electrons, not scale drawn might I point out.
The second cutlass, the first got coffee stained so I traced another
one
If you've read Artemis Fowl, this is my idea of how Opal's Shuttle
would look like in Opal's Deception The one furtherest leftwards
probably best describes it imo
Another one from Artemis Fowl, this time my idea of a Titanium pod
despite not looking much like a tear-drop.
A cube, though not initially from Artemis Fowl
Dwarven designs(?) on a shield
My idea of the perfect phone, although I have one, Nokia C3
and not exactly perfect but hey
My first drawing last year, some sort of hovercar
The second drawing last year, boomerang for a reason?

That concludes my drawings last year

C&C welcome

Until then

Update

Sooner than expected.
I Managed to acquire some batteries for some photos.

So Here are the pictures of the hills so far.

I decided to only have four layers of Polystyrene rather that the original six. This makes for easier storage and more gradual slopes on the hills.

Hill with four layers.

Hill with six Layers.

Also The plans for the board. Each square represents 4" meaning 48"x48" or 4'x4' in total gaming area.

And by 'Fort' I mean with ruined walls and a gate on top of the hill. This does make the board too themed in a way, so the plan is to make the wall sections and gate removable so it looks like an ordinary hill =) when the they're not there.

I've started on the low(ish) hill.

With these two layers, one will be 12" in diameter and the second 6". The idea is to have a gradual assent to the 'summit'

The next stages for the board are sculpting the hills into a 'hill'-like shape, gluing it down, and sanding the surface.

And finally
The Painted Warriors of Minas Tirith.

Archers

Swordsmen

Spearmen

Still many more models in the backlog to paint, Rangers of Gondor, Theodred, Morannon orcs, and some Guard of the fountain Court.

Until then
